He wanted to surprise her with some handmade wedding bands.

I created two very different rings; one is flat, fashioned from a sheet of 18-carat yellow gold. The other is a round gold wire to which I soldered a small gold nugget. Set within it is a sparkling Australian blue sapphire, in homage to her homeland. I finished both pieces with a hammered texture, which unifies them aesthetically.
