Spend a day in the workshop where I will teach you how to create a custom ring. You will learn how to calculate its length from sheet metal and the basic jewellery techniques to create it; cutting, shaping, soldering, stamping, texturing and different types of finishes (polished or matte).

We will work with brass, although in this workshop, if you prefer, you have the option of making your ring in silver at an extra cost.

No previous experience is necessary. You are all welcome.

What will you do?

I will teach you how to calculate lengths to make the ring from the metal sheet and we will shape it. If the ring is for someone else, we will need you to bring one of theirs to measure it.

We will see the fundamental elements involved in the soldering process: jeweller's torch, borax, refractory brick, copper tweezers and bleaching salts to pickle the metals. You will solder your ring, which you can texturise or personalise with letters and/or numbers using the stamping technique.

Finally, we will learn how to finish the pieces; matt and/or polished.
