We talked and decided that her piece should transport her to a place full of calm. That place exists; she was there years ago. She still has a beautiful black-and-white analogue photograph of the spot. A lake, a forest and its reflection.

The photograph is absolutely stunning, deeply evocative. I take this image as my inspiration and bring that place to life in a silver brooch. The forest and its reflection create a silhouette which I craft by etching the metal. This is set within a rectangular frame onto which I solder the brooch’s clasp mechanism.
